San Diego Zoo

October 24, 2012, Suri and I went to the San Diego Zoo with our friends Terri, Megyn & Kaitlyn! The very first thing the girls wanted to do was ride the SkyFari (SkyTram). Now, I've been on one plenty of times at Busch Gardens, but never with Suri. Let me tell you, standing in line, I had anxiety building up so much & then as soon as we were on that thing, oh man, NEVER AGAIN! lol. I didn't want to move, didn't want to look around, all I kept thinking was, please get this over with, omgosh what if we plummet to the ground?! It was bad. So yeah, I will leave that type of stuff to Daddy (oh and side note: Seth tells me this morning there was a shark attack here in SD. Never going in the ocean again).

Back to the zoo. We have been to the zoo with our friends now a total of 3 times, and we always make sure to check out different animals each time. This time we made sure to see the elephants! On our way there we passed by the koalas, who are in a temporary home while their new place is being built. They look like little round balls of fluff that would be super soft to cuddle! :)  As we were there, one little guy was moving all around, which was fun to see.

Next we headed to Elephant Odyssey! The girls stopped for a photo op in front of the big sign and then we traveled through a collection of fossils in the walls and then stopped by the information desk, where we got to see and touch an African elephant tusk, a jaw from a saber tooth and the paw of a 12 foot bear! The elephants were only out for a little bit while we were there. The workers were cleaning up the area and then it was bath time for one of the elephants! Also living near the elephants were llamas, lions, jaguars, tapirs and some other weird little animals that had cute little babies :)

Around the corner from the elephants, were these cool birds - which I'd have to look up the name of -, and the meerkats! The meerkats were cool cause they'd randomly pop out of their holes and scurry across to the next hiding spot.

Our final stop was the giraffes! Suri had on her giraffe leggings, so we had to get a picture :)  The babies were so cute and the giraffes always seem so peaceful. Unlike their neighbors...

These rhinos got in a scuffle. It seems the one rhino wanted to move, so he woke up his buddy in quite an obnoxious, bullying manner. So his friend plopped down in front of him to steal his sunlight. At least that's how the story played out in my head :)

All smiles at the end of the day! Thanks again to our friends for a fun filled zoo day! XO

Pumpkin Patch 2012

This year we visited Oma's Pumpkin Patch in Lakeside, CA with two other families from our apartment complex. Free pumpkins, hay maze, games galore! The kids had so much fun! It was pretty hot and full of field trip kids too (bummer), but it was nice to get out for the weekend :)

(She got to pick her own and was going for an average sized pumpkin, when all of a sudden she literally stops, gets a huge grin on her face and goes straight for the tiniest Suri-size pumpkin she could find! It was the cutest moment - she was so excited to find it!)

Pumpkin Patch 2012
We are very excited for Halloween in one week! We're going to get together with all the kids in the apartment complex and take pics & trick-or-treat around the neighborhood! Can't wait! :)

Disney On Ice

Seth & I took Suri on a special date to see Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic on October 14, 2012. It takes a lot to keep this little girl's attention and thankfully the show did just that! She was so excited when Mickey and Minnie Mouse came out and throughout the whole show, she just couldn't take her eyes off of the characters! And neither could I, lol. Seriously, it's not just for the kiddos. I absolutely LOVED the show! Seth liked it too, but me - being the big Disney nerd - did not want to leave! We left early to avoid the crowds, but what we did see of the show was wonderful! Seth's favorite part was 'It's A Small World,' where people represented all the different countries around the world and did dances native to their culture - all in a beautiful wintry, blue and white motif! My favorite was Beauty and the Beast, and I got super excited when Chip, Mrs. Potts and all the other characters came out! We were also really impressed by the Toy Story soldiers, they had some amazing ice skating moves! Suri really seemed to enjoy it all, but it was fun when she actually pointed out and said, "Mickey mouse, Minnie mouse!" It was a magical time with our little girl and we'll never forget the look on her face! We can't wait to share many more experiences like this with our beautiful baby girls!
