End of Summer

We had a pretty great Summer 2012! Trips to the beach, visits with friends and family, playing outside, and beautiful Sofia joining our lil fam! It's been filled with many memories, a few bumps and bruises, but mostly lots of love and laughter!

Suri Jean is 20 months old and a sassy little Daddy's girl!  She has a full range of facial expressions from sticking her tongue out and making silly faces to screaming at the top of her lungs to a chin-quivering cry fest (pictured!). Even our neighbors comment on how expressive she is! If they only knew... Ha! She's been a great big sister - learning to be gentle and share her blankies (big deal!) and tries to give 'Sissy' her paci when she's crying. Also, Sissy is the very first one to get a kiss good-night! Suri's obsessed with Dora the Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants (unfortunately!). Every morning it's, "Do-do-do-do-do Dora!" or "Bob Bob," that we have to watch when she wakes up at 5:30 or 6 am! On a good day, it's 7 am, or on a rare (wishful) occasion 8 am. And of course the big news this past week was that she climbed out of her crib! and sadly broke her tibia, resulting in a trip to Children's ER and then having to get a cast! She's been quite the trooper, but she is a complete daredevil like her daddy, mixed with a bit of clumsiness from her mama! So after that horrible incident, we have now converted her crib into it's toddler bed feature and added a guard rail! Suri loves to talk on the phone, her favorite word is still "No," she always surprises us with new words she's learned, she has to have a blankie with her at all times, loves to play outside (and is kinda a bully), LOVES fruit, hardly ever lets Mommy put her to bed/nap - only wants Daddy, is a total cuddle bug when she's super tired, a total screamer when she doesn't get her way, and ultimately a total cutie that makes us laugh & fills our hearts with joy each and every day!

The many faces of Suri playing outside: happy, sad, deep in thought, silly, excited!

Sofia Edie is now 2 months old! We go to the doctor for her check-up this Friday, poor girl will have to get shots :(  But we're expecting her stats to be pretty similar to how Suri's were... high percentiles, especially in height! Sofia's gonna be tall like her sister! She's been sleeping in her own bed since we bought the Fisher Price Rock N Play Sleeper and took down the pack n play. She'll sometimes sleep for 6 hours at night before waking to eat, but then other times it's every 3 hours. She LOVES to be held and will cry and cry until picked up. Suri and Sofia like to share tummy time! Sofia holds her neck up really well and loves to stand, she's gonna be strong like sister too! We are really excited to see how different the girls will be, but we are definitely blessed with two darling beauties! Sofia's features have changed a lot since birth, and she doesn't look like Suri anymore, she's her own woman! lol... Girl, I mean. Cute lil baby girl. But both girls definitely resemble Daddy more than Mommy : /  I just can't win! lol. Maybe one day....

Seth has started classes now and I am home with the girls, and Seth's brother, Brock, moved in with us. Seth's schedule this semester is pretty nice, as he gets off by 10 am on MWF and then T/R he doesn't go in until noon. It gives us a lot more time together as a family (when Seth isn't busy training Brock at the gym) and is nice to have him home to help me with the girls, so I don't pull my hair out! Lol. Hoping for a great semester & lots more wonderful memories with our girls here in San Diego! Xoxo, Sc
