Sofia Edie - July 6, 2012

            This was me the morning of July 6, 2012! Still very pregnant. I had a doctor's appointment later on that afternoon, where the doctor told me she expected I would go into labor any time within the next few days... little did she know...

...I started having contractions after the doctor visit, and they became much stronger around 5 pm that evening, so we headed to the hospital's Triage department, where...I was monitored for about a half hour and then told I could either return home, or walk around for two hours to see if I progress further.... so we walked... and walked... and ate some dinner... and then walked, well, tried to walk, but the contractions were getting so intense that I could barely move and we headed back up to Triage... me in tears, and Seth trying to keep his composure as it seemed to take FOREVER for them to get me up to the Labor & Delivery rooms... finally I was taken to a room around 9 pm & got an epidural (which was pretty painful & is the part I looked forward to the least)... then after an hour and a half or so, I progressed to about 8 cm and they called for the doctor... she came and decided to break my waters and I began pushing soon after... it didn't take very long...and Sofia Edie was born into this world on her expected due date... 6 hours total... from contractions to birth... much shorter than my 18 hour birth with Suri....and here she is -

 We are enjoying every day with our new little bundle of joy! Suri likes to watch her all the time and wants to hold her whenever she can. She does pretty well being gentle with her, but sometimes can be a little rough... but what can you expect from an almost two year old! She gives her kisses and calls her baby...it's super sweet & I know that they will be great friends once they're both older! We're slowly adjusting to our little family of four, and feel extremely blessed for what God has given us in these two amazing little girls!

Welcome to the world Sofia!

Sofia Edie has arrived! She joined our little family on July 6, 2012 at 11:18 pm, weighing in at 8 lb 4 oz and measuring 20.5 inches long! She is beautiful & doing really well! Suri loves her new little sister & wants to hold her and see what she's doing all the time. We are so blessed to have two amazing little beauties & look forward to the wonderful experiences ahead! This summer has been a lot of fun & we've had a lot going on! I'm busy at home chasing around Suri all day, while also being 9+ months pregnant! I have been getting the nesting itch like CRAZY & need everything to be organized and clean and in its perfect spot, or else I get super restless until it's all done! Drives Seth crazy that I won't relax! Or take naps :)  I try... I really do sometimes.

Seth, of course, has been super busy with summer classes, but has been working hard & getting awesome grades! He's only got 3 weeks left and he cannot wait to have a break!! He's been working out like a champ & looks super studly...as always ;) We went out to Corvette Diner for Father's Day and had a fun time in the hippie room....and unfortunately, all my pictures from my camera got deleted, including pics from Father's Day and pics of Suri outside in the pool with her friends. But anyway, Seth has been a wonderful husband and daddy, taking on some extra duties due to the fact that I have become increasingly HUGE and unable to do a lot, and I'm very appreciative every day for having him in my life, right by my side forever.

Suri's been doing wonderfully too. She is such a fun-loving, non-stop, bouncing off the walls little girl! She really can be a handful some days, but more often than not, she is an absolute joy in our lives every day! We are so blessed to have such an amazing little girl that brightens our lives and warms our hearts. Suri has definitely gotten to enjoy the water a lot this summer & she is a total beach bum! Just like her daddy, she LOVES the water and never wants to get out (even if her teeth are chattering!) Suri has gotten to spend time with her Nana and Papa too and had a fun time at the park, and then driving up to Newport Beach to hang out with them & all the aunts and uncles and cousins (with a special visit from Auntie Tristan, Uncle TJ, & cousins Zay & Wyatt)! It was such a fun trip and we were so happy to spend time with our family & get outside & enjoy some time together! We have had an amazing summer so far and look forward to many more fun adventures....especially little Miss Sofia joining our family very soon! We'll keep y'all posted <3 Sc

Today, June 22nd @ 38 weeks

    So as of right now, I am 38 weeks...as seen above in the last picture. I am pretty much done with being pregnant... the tossing & turning at night, the back pain, the huge belly that hits everything, the heartburn... over it! And I'd really like to meet our new little girl soon :)  I went to the doctor on Thursday and they said everything looks great, baby is measuring perfectly and has a good heartbeat, I'm progressing well (due to contractions I've been having off and on over the past 4 weeks) & that's pretty much it... I go back in a week to get another check up... if lil Sofia holds out that long! She seems to be like her sister, wants to do things her own way & on her own time... these girls are gonna be a handful! Well, that's really all for now...will keep y'all posted    <3 Sc

Memorial weekend

     This Memorial weekend, our best friends were visiting in Laguna Beach, so we took a drive up to see them! On Saturday afternoon, we headed up there and spent some time on the beach, playing in the sand & splashing in the waves! Suri was fearless & wanted to charge into the ocean every chance she got! She had lots of fun playing with her bestie, Reagan & it was adorable to watch them together! It was so great to spend time in beautiful Laguna & see our friends, Nick & Shay, and Nick's awesome parents, Tammy & Ken!

      On Sunday, the Hansen clan ventured down to San Diego to see us and we all met up at Belmont Park so the girls could ride the carousel & other fun rides! It was Suri's first time on the carousel & she loved it! Her first ride, I stood beside her and she laid back in my arms the whole time, which led to an aching back & forearm for me :) Her second ride she went with Aunt Shay and sat up much better on her own (of course when it's not me) & Reagan rode next to her, while Uncle Seth was by her side. Then we went on to ride the boats and the 'Crazy Submarine.' From Belmont Park, we headed back to our cars located by a small beach, and we let the girls run & play in the water. Then we took a trip to the park at Liberty Station to swing & go down the slides, and then when we were all worn out & starving, we headed to our favorite Mexican joint, 'Casa Guadalajara'. At the end of the night, Suri was exhausted & we all headed our separate ways, with lots of fun new memories of our Memorial Day vacation! Can't wait til we get to see our besties again! Love you guys! (P.s. - when we got home that night, I started having contractions, but they eventually subsided & I haven't had any more like them since).
